Paul Ryan's budget sends his critics over the edge -- but should we worry Mitt Romney has praised it?
...In other words, according to the left, Paul Ryan and Republicans who support his plan are not only heartless, not just stupid, but going straight to hell....

..Choice of one policy over another policy. Choice over the government straitjacket. Choice is the natural consequence of a people who believe in personal liberty.
By making choices in public policy one creates competition and all the benefits that come from competition. One creates better policies, policies suited for individuals' varying needs. One creates efficiencies in distribution and in design of policies...

Obama Doesn't Care About Debt

By David Harsanyi
The administration isn't serious about the debt, because like most politicians, Barack Obama doesn't care. Not a whit. Democrats are willing to move heaven and earth for the things they do care about. They were prepared to whip up political turmoil and put the presidency and Congress on the line to pass Obamacare. Yet they won't risk offering a budget, lest anyone glimpse their priorities. And we could tax all the millionaires into poverty, and it wouldn't make a dent without reforming spending.
No, of course, you can't blame any single administration or person for the array of decisions and autopilot spending that has put us on this course -- but we can name the star performers.

York: Ryan tries to break Reid's grip on budget

..."We do not need to bring a budget to the floor this year," Reid told reporters last month, arguing that legislation setting limits on spending is sufficient.
"The fact is, you don't need a budget," agreed fellow Democrat and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer a few weeks ago. "We can adopt appropriations bills. We can adopt authorization policies without a budget. We already have an agreed-upon cap on spending."
In fact, the lawmakers are required by law to pass a budget each year. That's made conspicuously clear by the Congressional Budget Act of 1974. But proposing and passing a budget can cause lots of problems. It can force a party to take potentially unpopular stands on critical issues. How much should the government spend on national defense? On health care? On social programs? As Reid and his allies see it, better to just ignore the whole thing....

House Republicans should either offer a balanced budget or retire
Via-Daily Caller
After contributing to our problems for years, if Washington Republicans still lack the political will to act responsibly and come up with such a plan, then voters will know that they don’t in fact “get it.” Conceding that we can’t get our finances in order over a whole decade is conceding to future bankruptcy and the end of the American era. That should not be an option.
